Machine accuracy is not just inbuilt – it depends also on the way the machine has been used. Try to do these simple techniques, so that your new or current machining center would achieve its great potential precision.
1. Know the spindle speed
One basic way for doing this is you should identify changes in the position of tool tip through experimentation. You can measure the spindle using a gage pin with different rpm and you will get the information about this.
2. Measure the machining center process rather than the part
Usually, we do the inspection after work has been done, that’s why the gage basically controls the process. The alternative solution for that is measuring or gaging its process rather than its parts. In short, find the sources of various errors during processing and be sure to correct such errors before the occurrence of machining.
3. Raise some attention for the drawbar
The most ignored machinery of machining centers is also the most critical. The force in the drawbar should be inspected routinely and frequently and if possible, it should be every 2 months. The tool holder doesn’t necessary holds the tool in spindle it’s really the drawbar.
4. Manage the chatter
We can reduce chatter by simply making the tooling and setup more rigid. Chatter can also be prevented by finding such spindle speed that have the cutting edge rate that harmonizes to the natural system frequency.
5. Use some known reference for inspection
Does machining centers have a measurement query that can inspect their own performances? Apparently, the answer would be “no”, for the reason that any thermal fault that affects the machining outdo would also affect the measuring ability of machines. However, other users of machining center get through with this limitation
Doing such techniques will let the machines inspect their own works. In addition, doing this will also allow the machines to revise their positioning and maintained their accuracy throughout the production run, or else the part and machine position error would ruin its precision.
